FAIRMONT – Wanda A. Olson, age 82, of Fairmont, MN, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN, on Sunday, July 5, 2026.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Wanda at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center – Trimont (111 Apple Street E, Trimont, MN 56176), with Ean Sinn serving as funeral celebrant. A recording of the service will be available at Wanda's obituary page at www.sinnfuneralhome.com.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center – Trimont, as well as from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service on Wednesday.
Wanda will be laid to rest at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Odin, MN, next to her husband, Gary.
The Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center of Trimont, Sherburn, and Welcome is assisting the family with arrangements.
Wanda was born on May 22, 1944, to William and Genrose (Chelf) McCloud. She graduated from St. James High School with the class of 1962. After high school, Wanda worked as a waitress for several years at Duke's and the Town House. On May 4, 1963, Wanda was united in marriage to Gary Olson at Zion Lutheran Church in Odin, MN. After their marriage they lived in Odin, then moved to Arizona for a short time before returning to Minnesota to settle in Ormsby. Wanda was known as the "Ormsby Mom" for the many children she cared for through her daycare over the years. Before retiring, she worked in housekeeping at the Good Samaritan Society in St. James.
Wanda was a devoted mother, grandmother, and the heart of her family. She will be remembered for her selfless spirit, her big heart, and the unconditional love she gave to everyone around her.
Wanda loved to sew and enjoyed spending time gaming with her grandchildren. At 82 years old, her favorite game was Animal Crossing. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her love into every part of their lives. She was kind, generous, and always willing to help anyone in need without expecting anything in return.
Those who knew Wanda will remember her warmth, her laughter, and the way she made others feel loved and accepted. Her legacy of love, strength, and devotion will live on through her family and all who were blessed to know her.
Wanda will forever be remembered by her four children, Angie Olson, Amy (Dale) Tonne, Scott Olson, and Annie Olson; her grandchildren, James Tonne, Luke Tonne, Amber Tonne, Jackson Pooley, and Jace Pooley; two great-grandchildren, Archer and Emersyn Quinn; father, Leland (Ruth) Hansen; siblings, Sibyl (Doug) Anderson, Cindi (Rob) Logan, Kris (Jane) Hansen, and Tammy (Brad) Luedtke; sister-in-law, Nancy (Roger) Braaten; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Gary; son, William; an infant daughter; father, William McCloud; mother, Genrose Hansen; and other relatives and friends.
