LAKEFIELD - Rose Parrington, age 64, of Lakefield, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems - Mankato, MN.

A Celebration of Life service will be held for Rose at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lakefield (604 Bush St, Lakefield, MN 56150) with Pastor Eric Obermann officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM. The service will be recorded and available afterwards on Rose's obituary page. Rose will be buried at Riverside Cemetery in Jackson, near her parents.

Rose was born on June 23, 1961, to Swen and Irene (Buck) Petersen in Jackson, MN. She attended high school in Jackson. Rose worked for many years as a home health aid, helping people remain in their homes. Rose was a woman who always looked for God in nature - finding deep joy in the little things. She paid attention to the wind moving through the trees, the dance of the smallest insects, the beauty of tall pines reaching for the sky. For her, creation was a gift, and she greeted each day with gratitude.

She had a sharp wit and a wonderful sense of humor that could lighten any moment. Intelligent, thoughtful, and endlessly curious, Rose enjoyed good conversation and time spent with others. She especially loved bingo nights at the VFW in Jackson, where she shared laughter, friendly competition, and the fun of gathering with familiar faces.

But above all else, Rose loved her family. They were her heart, her greatest joy, and the anchor in every season of life. Her love will continue to surround them, steady and strong, like the breeze through the leaves she so dearly cherished.

Those who knew Rose will remember her kindness, her laughter, and her beautiful way of seeing God’s fingerprints everywhere. Her memory will forever remain a blessing.

Rose will forever be remembered by her loving husband of 18 years, Colin; daughter, Sarah Burch; Jacob (Lura) Boe; grandchildren, Zoe and Lydia; and bonus grandchildren; sisters, Velma (Steve) Mathias, Colleen (Michael) Jennings, and LaVonna (Lawrence) Hall; step-children, Richard Parrington and Rosalie Parrington; step-grandson, Jack Thomas Parrington; her beloved pets, Rusty, Anna, and Samson; and other relatives and friends.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Swen and Irene; many lifelong friends; her beloved dogs, Dusty and Princess.
