Marilyn Wyona (Curry) Pierson was born on April 8, 1945, to Sylvester and Gebka (Aden) Curry in St. James, MN. On May 6, 1945 she was baptized and later was confirmed on March 22, 1959, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in St. James. Marilyn attended St. Paul’s Lutheran school and later graduated from St. James High School with the class of 1963.

On April 19, 1969, Marilyn was united in marriage to Leland “Butch” Pierson at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in St. James, Minnesota. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Waseca until 1977, when they purchased Trimont Greenhouse and Floral. Together, they operated the business and lived in the attached house where they raised their two daughters, Melinda and Jennifer. In 2012, they sold the Trimont Greenhouse and Floral Shop, closing a meaningful chapter in their lives.

Marilyn embraced the simple joys of life—knitting, gathering with friends over shared meals, and, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and cheering them on in their many activities. She was a devoted member of First Lutheran Church, where she lent her voice to the choir, supported the after-school program, and actively participated in WELCA. Her dedication to community extended beyond the church walls, as she faithfully served with the Trimont Chamber of Commerce, the Trimont Legion Post 373 Auxiliary, and TASK for many years.

Though Marilyn may have seemed quiet or soft-spoken to some, those who truly knew her saw the spirited determination, passion, and spark of feistiness that lived within her. She was deeply loyal, always present for her family and friends, and made sure the people in her life felt how much she cared about them.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Melinda (William Koepp) Eddihi of Bloomington, Minnesota, and Jennifer (Greg) Beseke of Sherburn, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Aliah and Adam Eddihi, Nicholas and Sydney Beseke; sisters-in-law, Theresa Curry of St. James, Ruby Ekstrom of Butterfield, Vivian Blomgren of Mountain Lake, Eloise Zellmer of Cokato; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Butch; parents, Sylvester and Gebka Curry; sisters, Beverly (John) Hewitt and Ella (Forrest) Reichert; brother, Duane Curry; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Nels and Anne (Sanders) Pierson; sisters-in-law, Beverly (Larry) Ahern; brothers-in-law, Nels (Kathleen) Pierson Jr., Eldon Ekstrom, Clarence Blomgren, and Leo Zellmer; and other relatives and friends.
