Janet A. Holtz

SHERBURN - Janet A. (Sagehorn) Holtz, age 81, of Sherburn, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at her home.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Janet at 1:30 PM on Monday, December 15, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn (317 S. Main Street, Sherburn 56171) with Pastor Jeff Hagen officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM prior to the service at the church. Janet’s service will be recorded and available to be viewed at her obituary page at www.sinnfuneralhome.com.

The Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center of Trimont, Sherburn, and Welcome is assisting the family with arrangements.

Janet A. (Sagehorn) Holtz was born on May 14, 1944, to Gerald and Delores (Draves) Sagehorn in Bertha, MN. She was baptized as an infant and confirmed on May 25, 1958, at Zion Lutheran Church in Crosby, MN. She received her education in Sherburn. Janet was employed at Farmer’s State Bank in Sherburn for many years. And upon retiring, she chose to stay busy working for COR and cleaning St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Janet loved spending time with her family and friends, whether she was gathered with them at home or traveling on vacation. She cherished the moments shared during church coffee hours and with many of her birthday club friends. Janet also enjoyed reading, working on word searches, and bumming around.

Janet is survived by her three sons, David (Cherri) of Parachute, Colorado, Donald (Penny) Holtz of Sherburn, Minnesota, and Darin (Tina) Holtz of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; six grandchildren, Jason Holtz, Joshua (Jessica) Holtz, Jessica Holtz (special friend, Tyler Miller), Mataya Holtz, Jenna Holtz, and Mackenzie (Sam) Lienstock; nine great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kaylee, Chael, Madi, Kittiya, Brooklyn, Gauge, Marshall, and Lila; siblings, Karen (Ray) Brolsma, Mark (Rita) Sagehorn, and Lori Sagehorn; brother-in-law, Tom Schweiss; sister-in-law, Vicki Sagehorn-Forst; bonus son, Joe Shaffer; nephews and nieces; and other relatives and friends.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents; infant twins; brother, Larry Sagehorn; sister, Geri Lynn Schweiss; and other relatives and friends.
