David was born on January 5, 1963, in Fairmont, MN, to Cleo and Yvonne (Diekman) Krumwiede. He grew up in Trimont alongside his six siblings and graduated from Trimont High School with the Class of 1981. David was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Trimont. David later attended college at Mankato State University and North Central Bible College. He enjoyed his role as a Safety Supervisor working with transit companies throughout the Midwest. Over the years, he worked for Rainbow Foods, Rohman Trucking, Blachowske Trucking, Kemna-Asa, and several local farms. Most recently, he was working for Transport Design in Savage before becoming ill and returning to Trimont.

David shared a close and enduring bond with Marlene, the mother of his children. In the years leading up to his passing, their relationship reflected deep commitment, loyalty, and a shared devotion to their family. Together, they have three sons: Zach Krumwiede (Samantha), and their children Kade, Kolby, and Koen; Geoffrey Krumwiede (Ana), and their children Oliver and Nora; and Austin Krumwiede (Dana), and their children Emmett and Trey.

David is also survived by his siblings: LuAnn (Brian) Lenning, Brian (Tina) Krumwiede, Daniel (Julie) Krumwiede, Janice Tomko, and Julie (Kevin) Traetow; brother-in-law, Dale Wohlrabe; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo and Yvonne Krumwiede, and his sister Lori Wohlrabe, who passed away in July after her own battle with cancer; maternal grandparents, Otto and Ann Diekman; and paternal grandparents, George and Henrietta Krumwiede.

David loved sports and was an avid fantasy football player. He delighted in inside jokes, silly phrases of his own creation, and bringing humor into everyday moments. David cherished his Tuesday morning coffee times with family and friends. Few things brought him more joy than belting out “Sweet Caroline”—whether at a concert or in a room full of friends and family. In 2025, David was proudly inducted into the Vikings World Order and knighted as “Sir Otto,” a title he wore with pride.

Good times never seemed so good.

Proud Dad, Loyal Friend, Sir Otto.
