Cordell Weber

June 7, 1995 — May 28, 2025

Gypsum, CO - Formerly of Welcome

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cordell Riggs Weber, age 29, of Gypsum, Colorado, and formerly of rural Welcome, Minnesota. Cordell passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, due to a cyst in his brain. He was surrounded by family and close friends at the time of his passing.

Cordell was a devoted and attentive husband to his beloved wife, Gretchen, whom he met while they were both students in the PGA program at the University of Nebraska. They were married in September of 2021, beginning a life together filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. He was also a dedicated and loving father to their 9-month-old son, Miles, who brought immense joy and purpose to his life. Cordell embraced fatherhood with warmth, patience, and pride, and his love for his family was evident in everything he did.

After graduating from the PGA program, Cordell and Gretchen began their professional careers in the Seattle area, where they lived for four years. They later moved to Gypsum, Colorado, to be closer to family. There, Cordell served as an assistant golf professional at Eagle Springs Golf Club. He was not only highly skilled in the game of golf, but also deeply valued the relationships he built with the members he served. His genuine care, easygoing nature, and professionalism left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Cordell lived life with energy and enthusiasm. He was an avid skier—known for shredding the gnar and skiing just a little too fast—and a truly great golfer. He had mad pickleball skills, loved fly fishing, camping, and enjoyed watching sports with family and friends, especially cheering on the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Wild. As a new homeowner, he took pride in caring for and improving his home, always eager to take on a new project.

Cordell was known for being deeply caring and attentive to those he loved, always offering his time and support without ever expecting anything in return. In his final act of generosity, he gave the extraordinary gift of life to others through organ and tissue donation.

Cordell is survived by his wife, Gretchen; his son Miles; his parents, Ken and Vickie Weber; his siblings and their significant others, Broc (Grace), Jarvis (Kenzie), Logan McIlravy (Sterling), Dawson Weber (Olivia), and Mitchell; his mother and father-in-law, Carter and Amy Keller, JP (Emilie) Keller; his grandmother, Sammie Moeller; niece and nephews, Charlotte Weber, Greyson Weber, Atlas McIlravy, and two more on the way; and many other loving relatives and friends.Cordell was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth E. Weber Sr., Carole A. Weber, and Arvin Moeller.
