Barbara Louise (Kuhn) Sampson was born on September 13, 1944, to John and Phil (Zahorsky) Kuhn in Jackson, MN. She grew up in rural Sherburn and graduated from Sherburn High School with the class of 1962. After high school, Barb worked for Dr. VH Gardner and Dr. Jack Gardner at their clinic in Fairmont. Barb was united in marriage to Edwin “Sam” Sampson at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn on October 17, 1964.
Barb and Sam moved to La Salle, Colorado, for several years. After the birth of their first daughter, Jodi, they moved back to Minnesota to be closer to family. After their daughter, Jaci, was born, Barb opened a daycare in her home which she ran for 37 years. Barb was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont.
Barb treasured the time she was able to spend with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson. Whenever Barb was around, there was never a silent moment in the room as she loved talking with family and friends whether it was over a game of cards or just catching up with each other. She loved being able to spend time in her flower garden at home, and was a skilled decorator. Barb loved the dogs that she and Sam raised over their life together. She looked forward to the trips she took to Vancouver to visit her daughter’s family.
Barb will forever be remembered by her loving husband, Sam; daughters, Jodi (Jonathan) Geistfeld and Jaci (Scott) Edgeworth; grandchildren, Reilly (Jake) Dujmovic, Wyatt (Jordan) Geistfeld, Cooper Edgeworth and Easton Edgeworth; great-grandchild, Levi Dujmovic; many other relatives and friends.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents, John and Phil Kuhn; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marion and Esther Sampson; and brother, John J. Kuhn.
